In many countries, basic necessities like healthcare and education are out of reach for the most vulnerable. Thankfully, local heroes are stepping up to help. Our mission is to support these heroes with essential transportation and communication tools, providing hope for a brighter future.
MIVA: Supporting Local Pioneers for 85 Years
MIVA believes in the power of people who dedicate their lives to helping others. For 85 years, we have been supporting local pioneers in Africa, Asia and Latin America. These heroes reach remote areas where medical care, education and other basic needs are too far away. It is the most vulnerable, especially children with disabilities, who suffer the most. Thankfully, there are people who see it as their calling to help these individuals, no matter how challenging the journey.
Mission and Impact
MIVA provides these dedicated individuals with essential transportation and communication tools. With our extensive experience and established network, we supply the right tools to extend their reach, enabling them to help more people. We focus on areas where help is most needed and can save lives. Through our efforts, we enhance their capacity to deliver critical aid, making a significant difference in the lives of those who need it the most.
Equal partnerships
Since 2015 MIVA collaborates with the Liliane Foundation. Together we work with Southern partners on the basis of equal relationships. Our Strategic Partner Organizations (SPOs) in 24 countries have different tasks, powers and responsibilities. They have autonomy to make decisions for policy and programme development, and responsibility to coordinate and build the capacity of the network of local partner organizations.
Applications cannot be submitted to MIVA directly, but are submitted through the strategic partners of MIVA and the Liliane Foundation.
